Errr... Version 0.97 was released on 2003-03-10, that is more than
FIVE YEARS OLD, which compares to eternity when talking about such a
fast evolving library like iText (well, like any maintained piece of
code actually). You should definetely not expect any support for such
an old version. Maybe Bruno will remember some tricks to accomplish
what you need with a pre-1.0 version, but I wouldn't bet a cent on
that. And please to mail him personally about that, he's reading the
list, and anyway is very busy with non iText related issues which are
far more important.

Either you manage to convince your provider / customer / software
manager to update to a newer version, either you checkout the source
code for that version and dig into it on your own...
