Just to be clear on this point, if you read the legal text at the  
beginning of the PDF Reference from Adobe, you will see a paragraph  
where we enable the use of all of our PDF-related patents for the  
creation and processing of PDF by others PROVIDED THAT they respect  
the digital rights present in the document (aka passwords &  
permissions).

As Paulo noted, in order to be in compliance with that statement,  
iText had to change to prevent legal action from Adobe.

Now that you have publicly posted about your improper use of the  
technology, I recommend that you correct your workflow IMMEDIATELY.
