In this scenario there are only 2 kinds of fields, text fields and buttons.
Buttons are replaced with images, but this looks odd when there is no image.
I can have a POJO describing the data being set, ie of type image or text, so I
can replace the default text with empty
Strings when the field being set is null, likewise set the image to invisible
or remove it if possible when the image is null.
At the moment I’m getting the value being set, checking if it’s an instanceof
Image or String, then adding the image or
setting the String value.
I’ll replace this tomorrow with the POJO, unless there’s a way to discover with
iText if the field being set is a button or a text field.
Then I can simply loop through those fields, check their type and set their
values if any, and reset if none.
