It should be fairly easy to manipulate that PDF to have the formerly empty signature field point to the existing signature. Doing so in append mode should keep the digest value in the signature correct. But don't expect the Acrobat Reader to still display the signature as valid. And if it does now, don't expect the Reader after the next update to continue doing so.
As the visual position of the signature fields may have a meaning (such as "I sign the the text above here"), displaying a signature in a signature field other than the one originally used may be forgery. Current versions of the Acrobat Reader attempt to catch such possible forgery situations and in case of such a situation display the signature as invalid.
