Thanks for the reply, Howard; it would be nice J at some point to beef up the
RTF functionality at it does not seem to have kept pace with the PDF side. In
the meantime I found another little product (NRtfTree) which although has a
very low level interface appears that it might get the job done for us.

What you want to do is not possible at this time with iText RTF.

Subject: [iText-questions] RTF Merging
I use iText for creating PDF and RTF documents, and now need to be able to read
an existing RTF ‘Template’ to merge data with. I’ve searched the archives but
have not found anything definitive.
I need to be able to do the following:
1) Read existing RTF document (we are doing this successfully through the
RtfWriter.ImportRtfDocument method
2) Access either Bookmarks or Fields from imported RTF document (is this
possible?)
3) Create new RTF document from this document while replacing bookmarks or
fields with data that we provide
I could not find whether this can be done with iText or any examples if it can.
If this is not possible with iText, is there a product (preferably written in
.NET; does not need to be open source) that might support this?
Thank you,
- Stew
