If you have a made document in portrait, then you have given an absolute position to every line, every word, every glyph on the page. There is no option to say: now show me the document in landscape. That's inherent to PDF (regardless of the tool you are using to create the PDF). Therefore you have to create the document from scratch from the original source if you want to view the document in landscape. Creating a document in landscape is just a matter of rotating the page size when creating the document.
