There's no development on that front at the moment. The request for this was 
one, two with you, so it's not really a priority. If it's a priority for your 
company and you are willing to pay for the development or contribute with the 
code then it could go ahead.

Hi,

I'm wondering if this effort is still actively being pursued or if it could
be somehow prodded back to life. Our company wishes to create encrypted pdf
output from a simple html data stream for our electronic medical records
application. To pass ARRA certification, we must prove the ability to
encrypt in 128, 292, and 256 AES modes.

What would might take to get this back on the iText development radar?
