If all you are doing is signing a second time - and not doing ANY OTHER
operation - then the first signature will STILL BE VALID since you didn't touch
the original page content.

Subject: [iText-questions] Question regarding validity -- Multiple Digital
Signatures.

Hello,

This is more of an FYI for me than an issue. I understand that when I sign
a digital signature field on a pdf with itext and save it, the signature is
valid. Using the library, if I reopen the file and sign another signature
field through itext on the same pdf it invalidates the previous field (as it
should since data has changed on the pdf since the first signature
occurred).

My question is regarding the first digital signature field after the second
field is signed. In the validity summary it says that "this signature is
invalid because there are errors in the formatting or information contained
in this signature". Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but the signature should
still contain the same certificate information as prior to the second field
being signed.

Shouldn't the validity summary state that "the revision of the document that
was covered by this signature has not been altered; however, there have
been subsequent changes to the document."

Is this behavior to be expected?

Thanks!
