The image is NOT stretched and DOESN'T LOOK stretched.
An image of 1 by 1 on a page of 5 by 5, takes 4% of the page size.
An image of 1 by 1 on a page of 10 by 10 takes 1% of the page size.
In both cases, the size of the image will be 1 by 1,
but if you show the page that measures 10 by 10 with a zoom that
is smaller than the page that measures 5 by 5, then it will look smaller.

That is very elementary logic.

It goes beyond my comprehension that you are asking for a "solution".
There is NO PROBLEM. What is there to solve?

Yes, you can change the zoom factor in an "open event".
That event will be triggered when the document is opened.

Or what about scaling the image so that it always takes a certain
percentage of the page size?

For instance: if you want an image of 1 by 1 on a page of 10 by 10
look identically to an image of 1 by 1 on a page of 5 by 5, it's sufficient
to scale it to an image of 2 by 2, because:

1 x 1 = 1 and 5 x 5 = 25, so the image takes 1 / 25 or 4% of the total
space.
2 x 2 = 4 and 10 x 10 = 100, so the image takes 4 / 100 = 4%.
