It causes all kinds of side-effects. For instance: the side-effect you
reported in your first mail.
Also: the Document object passed to onStartPage() is NOT the Document you
create with "new Document()". It's an instance of PdfDocument that is
created internally. The documentation is very clear about this: use that
object "for read-only purpuses only!"
