On another note: you say you're unable to read the new line char from a PDF file. You're making the wrong assumption: you can't read the new line char, because it isn't there! Without seeing your sample PDF, I can tell you with 100% certainty that there's no new line char in the PDF after the (line one) String in the PDF. I'm pretty sure the (line one) String is followed by a space character and a text showing operator, such as ', " or Tj.
