Correct.
Moreover, some objects, such as the root dictionary and the
Cross-Reference table that are written at the end of the file are kept
in memory.
On the bright side: the next version of iText will remove the limit of 2GB.
If you use full compression, it will be possible to create PDF files of
up to 1 TB.
