Page numbers are artifacts, they aren't normal structure elements.

Subject: [iText-questions] tag an untagged text in an existent PDF with iText?

Hi,

I'm always struggling with iText trying to develop a program adding page
numbers in a tagged PDF.
I have already find a way to stamp the page numbers in a tagged PDF preserving
the document structure (page catalog, structure tree root, pages, page
dictionaries and so on...)

As you might to know, the screen readers cant read the page numbers, cause they
are not tagged.
So, my problem now is to find a way to tag the page numbers to the document
structure...

I can image 2 directions:
- trying to tag an untagged chunk of text (page numbers) in an existent PDF?

- trying to stamp an existent PDF with a marked content (page numbers)?

Do you think any of those options has feasibility?
Thanks for any help...

Walter
