One option would be to import the given page and insert it into the new
document with some appropriate clipping path or soft mask active. This would
of course insert the rest of the page into the new document, too. It simply
would not be visible.

PS: I have not yet explicitly worked with either clipping paths or soft
masks. Therefore, I can only point towards the PDF specification for
details.
