You'll discover that the file you're trying to read doesn't start with "%PDF-1." On Windows XP, you're reading a real PDF file; on Windows 7, you're reading something else. The fact that you're using Windows XP, Windows 7 or Windows 8 doesn't matter (we've tested iText on all of these OSs without any problem). Your problem is most probably due to a configuration error and such errors are extremely difficult to debug remotely.
