Hello Robin, It seems you may have a mixture of php53 packages (Redhat) and php53u packages (IUS), these two package archs are not compatible with each other and should not be installed side by side.
Can you provide us with the results of the following command: rpm -qa | grep php This will allow us to see which packages you have installed from IUS and RHEL.
