That's right... crosswalk uses ffmpeg. I'm not sure where the work is to convert it to use gstreamer. IIRC, you can build crosswalk with a switch that enables more codecs in ffmpeg. FYI, IIRC, ffmpeg source is included in crosswalk.
What I did was edit the spec for the crosswalk package and added "-Dmediacodecs_EULA=1" switch to the GYP_EXTRA_FLAGS variable. Hope that helps.
