I'm cross-posting this at V4L mailing list, since this subject is
better handled at V4L list.
The basic idea for shapshot is to provide a "stable" snapshot of V4L
from my point of view. It doesn't mean that it will works with every
kernel release.
If you guys are willing to test V4L against other versions, that would
help us to improve the snapshot process. If so, please, send me patches
to fix broken stuff against these versions and I'll be happy in applying
it to V4L CVS.
I can also generate a snap that would fit better the needs you're
addressing, and recall it as release, providing that you guys helps us.
We do, from time to time, a code freezing on CVS. We may agree to code
freeze by about a week, to allow better testing, including testing with
older kernel versions. After the end, I can generate such release.
