The mpg600gr module sets the tda9887 E register to 0x44. This means that
a video IF frequency of 47.75 MHz is selected, which is the freq. for
NTSC. But NTSC Japan uses a frequency of 58.75 MHz (which is set by the
other two tda9887 replacements).
Is the CX23416GYC card perhaps an NTSC-M card? If you replace 0x44 by
0x40, does it still work? (That would be the logical value).
