It works. But I am getting a depmod error. I think I didn't remove the 4.0 driver properly though.
depmod: *** Unresolved symbols in /lib/modules/2.4.27-2-386/kernel/ivtv/msp3400.o depmod: msecs_to_jiffies -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Brent Kilgore Sent: Monday, December 05, 2005 12:07 PM To: 'Discussion list for development of the IVTV driver' Subject: Re: [ivtv-devel] Second release candidate: please test 0.4.1 branch! I think it works. I can watch live tv in my freshly rebuilt myth box (as well as do all the other tests). I am using the debian sarge install with kernel 2.4.27-2-386 and a tuner 47 pvr-350. I guess all I need to do now is figure out how to make lirc load on boot. This debian has replaced rc.d with (regex) r[12345S].d I placed link in r5.d but it blows somewhere silently before boot is finished. Also need to get X moved over to the tv, make the mythtv user log in automatically, and make mythtv programs autoload on boot. AND trim down the mythtv X profile so only mythtv loads (do I even need a windows manager?) All in all this foray into setting up a mythtv box has been much smoother than last time (1 week vs 4 months) BTW .. if you have several identical drives for backup(same geometry). I recommend digital dolly for full drive backups. It saved this install already. First root drive blew up shortly after installing sarge. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Hans Verkuil Sent: Sunday, December 04, 2005 3:25 PM To: [email protected]; [email protected] Subject: [ivtv-devel] Second release candidate: please test 0.4.1 branch! Hi all, Please test this second preliminary 0.4.1 release! Download from: http://ivtvdriver.org/viewcvs/ivtv/branches/0.4.tar.gz?view=tar I think I've fixed most bugs since the previous round. So if there are no new major problems then I want to release it next week. I'd like to hear both successes and failures. Especially if you are running a 2.4 kernel! Note that the firmware files are now using the hotplug mechanism (except for older 2.4 kernels). See http://www.ivtvdriver.org/index.php/Firmware for more information.
