Just to chime in, I am also having this problem with my PVR-250 and the
latest stable release.  I also assumed that my PVR-250 was dying, maybe
it is I simply don't know.  I will try and roll back to the old stable
version and see if it works better.

btw, I also have 2 PVR-350s, one of them nearly as old and it does not
have this problem.
