I have a 45 mb mpg file (renamed .nuv from mythtv) at

captured by mythtv 0.18.1 on FC3 at 640x480, using ivtvctl -x 1 -b cc -w cc

This was recorded just after a fresh boot with a fresh 0.4.0 pull from
svn, after watching about 5 minutes of live tv at the suggestion of
others (livetv had the same garbled captions)
