Really? Did you check recent postings to the ivtv-users mailinglist?
I'm definitely not the only one having problems after upgrading
to 0.4.1...

I've tried 0.4.1 and 0.4 SVN revisions 3099 and 3101 (freshly checked out
and tested) with 2.6.15.

All have identical behaviour: It seems as if no coax-cable is plugged
to the tuner. Cannot tune into stations, shows always static.

A fallback to a once working 2.6.14.3/ivtv-0.4.0 did not help either.
The problem persists!
Also tried ivtv-0.4.0/0.4.1/0.4.2-3099 with 2.6.14.3 and 2.6.14.5.
I've not tested the 0.5 branch a lot after a couple of kernel panics
(never had any with the stable 0.4 series).

Is the following ok?

# ivtvctl -I
check SAA7115 input signal
ioctl: Input detect failed (cannot read SAA regs)
ioctl: Input detect failed (cannot read SAA regs)
ioctl: VIDEO_STATUS = Bad

SAA7115 reg[STATUS#1 - 0x1E] = 08
 Color Standard (D0-D1): BW/No color
White peak loop (D2): Not activated
Gain value for act.lum. (min) (D3): Limited
Gain value for act.lum. (max) (D4): Not limited
 WIPA-mode slow-time constant (D5): Not activated
 Horizontal frequency (D6): Locked
 Field length (D7): Non-standard

SAA7115 reg[STATUS#2 - 0x1F] = 08
 Ready for capture (D0): No
 Macrovision 7.01 (D1): No
 MV Colorstripe burst (D2): No
MV Colorstripe burst type 3 (D3): Yes
Input signal timebase (D4): Non-stable (VCR)
 Field frequency (D5): 50Hz
 H & V loops (D6): Locked
 Interlace (D7): Not detected

Are the SAA7115 registers screwed up?
