Hi, Today I tested the XV playback on the PVR350 TV-Out with myth. This resulted in the same errors with mythtv-0.19 (not using the decoder) as the ones I get when using the mythtv-0.19-fixes branch when using the 350's decoder.
Symptoms: - Networking is gone. - Sound is initially garbage, might get better after a while. - With XV, regular short stops in playback (short video freezes, sound continues normally). - System logs gets filled with scary messages (see below) Here are some significant snippets from my kernel log: It starts off with: Mar 31 22:36:34 neon ivtv0-osd warning: Need to adjust to width 480 src_w 442 dst_w 720 src_x 34 dst_x 0 Mar 31 22:36:34 neon ivtv0-osd warning: Need to adjust to height 480 src_h 442 dst_h 576 src_y 20 dst_y 0 Mar 31 22:36:34 neon ivtv0-osd warning: Source video: Interlaced Mar 31 22:36:34 neon ivtv0 warning: Enable video output Mar 31 22:37:10 neon ivtv0-osd warning: Need to adjust to width 480 src_w 442 dst_w 720 src_x 34 dst_x 0 Mar 31 22:37:10 neon ivtv0-osd warning: Need to adjust to height 480 src_h 442 dst_h 576 src_y 20 dst_y 0 Mar 31 22:37:10 neon ivtv0-osd warning: Source video: Interlaced Mar 31 22:37:10 neon ivtv0 warning: Enable video output Mar 31 22:37:15 neon 130 Mar 31 22:37:15 neon [<c03132a9>] vortex_error+0x309/0x3c0 Mar 31 22:37:15 neon [<c0313eba>] boomerang_interrupt+0x2ba/0x420 Mar 31 22:37:15 neon [<c0140139>] handle_IRQ_event+0x39/0x70 Mar 31 22:37:15 neon [<c01401e5>] __do_IRQ+0x75/0x100 Mar 31 22:37:15 neon [<c0104fc9>] do_IRQ+0x19/0x30 Mar 31 22:37:15 neon [<c01037f2>] common_interrupt+0x1a/0x20 Mar 31 22:37:15 neon Badness in pci_get_subsys at drivers/pci/search.c:234 Mar 31 22:37:15 neon [<c0299be1>] pci_get_subsys+0x101/0x110 Mar 31 22:37:15 neon [<c0299c21>] pci_get_device+0x31/0x40 Mar 31 22:37:15 neon [<c03ce759>] pcibios_lookup_irq+0x299/0x4b0 Mar 31 22:37:15 neon [<c03cea18>] pirq_enable_irq+0x68/0x1f0 Mar 31 22:37:15 neon [<c0296d90>] pci_enable_device_bars+0x50/0x70 Mar 31 22:37:15 neon [<c0296dc9>] pci_enable_device+0x19/0x50 Mar 31 22:37:15 neon [<c03124f8>] vortex_up+0x7c8/0x850 Mar 31 22:37:15 neon [<c031491c>] vortex_down+0x8c/0x130 Mar 31 22:37:15 neon [<c03132a9>] vortex_error+0x309/0x3c0 Mar 31 22:37:15 neon [<c0313eba>] boomerang_interrupt+0x2ba/0x420 Mar 31 22:37:15 neon [<c0140139>] handle_IRQ_event+0x39/0x70 Mar 31 22:37:15 neon [<c01401e5>] __do_IRQ+0x75/0x100 Mar 31 22:37:15 neon [<c0104fc9>] do_IRQ+0x19/0x30 Mar 31 22:37:15 neon [<c01037f2>] common_interrupt+0x1a/0x20 Mar 31 22:37:15 neon PCI: Sharing IRQ 15 with 0000:00:09.0 Then lots of: Mar 31 22:39:58 neon Badness in pci_get_subsys at drivers/pci/search.c:234 Mar 31 22:39:58 neon [<c0299be1>] pci_get_subsys+0x101/0x110 Mar 31 22:39:58 neon [<c0299c21>] pci_get_device+0x31/0x40 Mar 31 22:39:58 neon [<c03ce759>] pcibios_lookup_irq+0x299/0x4b0 Mar 31 22:39:58 neon [<c03cea18>] pirq_enable_irq+0x68/0x1f0 Mar 31 22:39:58 neon [<c0296d90>] pci_enable_device_bars+0x50/0x70 Mar 31 22:39:58 neon [<c0296dc9>] pci_enable_device+0x19/0x50 Mar 31 22:39:58 neon [<c03124f8>] vortex_up+0x7c8/0x850 Mar 31 22:39:58 neon [<c031491c>] vortex_down+0x8c/0x130 Mar 31 22:39:58 neon [<c03132a9>] vortex_error+0x309/0x3c0 Mar 31 22:39:58 neon [<c0313eba>] boomerang_interrupt+0x2ba/0x420 Mar 31 22:39:58 neon [<c0140139>] handle_IRQ_event+0x39/0x70 Mar 31 22:39:58 neon [<c01401e5>] __do_IRQ+0x75/0x100 Mar 31 22:39:58 neon [<c0146bc0>] __alloc_pages+0x300/0x420 Mar 31 22:39:58 neon [<c0104fc9>] do_IRQ+0x19/0x30 Mar 31 22:39:58 neon [<c01037f2>] common_interrupt+0x1a/0x20 Mar 31 22:39:58 neon [<c0312851>] vortex_timer+0xf1/0x5a0 Mar 31 22:39:58 neon [<c0312760>] vortex_timer+0x0/0x5a0 Mar 31 22:39:58 neon [<c012747c>] run_timer_softirq+0xec/0x210 Mar 31 22:39:58 neon [<c0140139>] handle_IRQ_event+0x39/0x70 Mar 31 22:39:58 neon [<c0122df1>] __do_softirq+0x41/0xa0 Mar 31 22:39:58 neon [<c0122e76>] do_softirq+0x26/0x30 Mar 31 22:39:58 neon [<c0122f35>] irq_exit+0x35/0x40 Mar 31 22:39:58 neon [<c0104fce>] do_IRQ+0x1e/0x30 Mar 31 22:39:58 neon [<c01037f2>] common_interrupt+0x1a/0x20 and finally: Mar 31 22:39:58 neon eth0: Too much work in interrupt, status e003. >From the above, it seems that my vortex network card (3Com 3C905) triggers some errors. Is this the culprit, or is it the ivtv / ivtvdev-X11 drivers? When using mythtv 0.19 and the PVR350's decoder, my system is quite stable. Anyone with some insights in what is going on here?
