The xdriver is now in portage. i can't speak for if it is compatible with 7.2, but I know that the last time I installed it, it required no additional patching (I am running 7.1.1, and xf86-video-ivtvdev is version 0.10.6). Unfortunately, the XDriver version numbers do not increment with the different xorg versions, despite patches being needed to make it compile as X changes. I think those patches are being included as part of the ebuild, not as part of the xdriver release.
