Guys,
I'm having trouble with fluctuating brightness on my PVR-150 recording from
composite video. The brightness "pulses" on dark scenes with about 5 seconds
between
pulses. It looks almost like Macrovision protection only not so bright just
a small but very annoying variation.
In addition a soft dark vertical band traverses across the picture.
There are no problems recording from antenna/aerial.
Is this a known problem? Is there any easy fix?
From my own techy background I'd say it's the AGC getting confused somehow.
According to the cx25840 datasheet there are some register settings to turn
control the AGC.
I seem to be able to control the registers with cx25840ctl, but since the
AGC value does vary quiet a lot, I feel instead of simply turning off the
AGC I should tweak the control mechanism. The question is HOW?
I'm running Unbuntu Fiesty 7.04 with stock packages.
Cheers
Steve
