Alas, that's of no use to me. The crash may not even be in ivtv at all, 
it looks like it is in some sort of timer interrupt.

Try to change the vga setting to something with more lines: add the 
kernel option 'vga=ask' to be able to scan and select the possible 
console options. You can later set the vga mode directly using the same 
vga kernel option.

Alternatively: newer kernels (not sure if it's already available in 
2.6.19) add history functionality to the console, allowing you to do 
shift-PgUp to scroll back. Doesn't always work if the PC is really 
dead. The history size can be set somewhere in the kernel config.
