Hi,

Yesterday I was experimenting with a new DVB-S card in my server.

During these experiments I must have replaced one or more of the core V4L
modules, because I broke my ivtv driver. The only way I managed to fix
this was to go get the latest and greatest V4L tree.

This is working fine: ivtv & ivtvfb are running great (I can verify that
because Myth is recoring nicely and I get my console via ivtvfb as soon as
I modprobe it).

Only problem is: now X doesn't work anymore with ivtvfb:

(II) v4l driver for Video4Linux
(II) IVTVDEV_TST: driver for framebuffer: PVR-350
(WW) ivtvdev: No matching Device section for instance (BusID PCI:4:3:0) found
(--) Chipset PVR-350 found
(EE) ivtvHWProvbe failed to do IVTVFB_IOCTL_GET_STATE for device /dev/fb0
(EE) Screen 0 deleted because of no matching config section.
(II) UnloadModule: "ivtvdev"
(EE) Device(s) detected, but none match those in the config file.

I've tried all possible combinations of BusID versus /dev/fb? file, but I
think I may need the newest X driver.

However, I cannot compile it on my server.

./configure

...

checking for XORG... configure: error: Package requirements (xorg-server
>= 1.0.99.901 xproto fontsproto ) were not met.

I read the README which says: "it is likely that you are missing the
xorg-server development package. For Fedora this package is called
'xorg-x11-server-sdk'".

I do have this package installed, but as it is an old FC5 system, it is
not at the right level:

xorg-x11-server-sdk.i386 1.0.1-9.fc5.7 installed

I know I should upgrade it, but last time I did that it took me more than
a week to get everything back to how I want it, so I'm a bit reluctant to
do that...

Does anybody have a pre-compiled ivtv X driver 1.0 available for me? I
could not find one on the Wiki. Will this even work on FC5?

Regards,
Stanley.
