mythtv-cvs as of this morning, but problem also noticed with cvs of yesterday morning
This system is my master backend and myth filestorage. No frontend running, only the backend. I have other slave backends
At boot both tuners will have sound, though i will verify this tomorrow morning when i can reboot without causing disturbance.
At some recordings, no sound is present. When i go into live TV afterwards, i have no sound. When i then change channels, i have sound again.
Have not had this problem on kernel 2.6.7. Reason for upgrade was a XFS crash, and inspection of the changelogs showd a lot of improvements in XFS after 2.6.7.
Some more information after some days of trial and error. I've seen it happen:
- on a second recording on the same channel with the same tuner
- after a reboot on both tuners
I can repair sound with: ivtvctl -R ivtvctl -r <frequency from previous command>
So tuning to the already tuned signal solves it. Seems to point to something not fully initialised?
Which msp3400 are you using--the one from the kernel or the one from the ivtv distribution? Since the ivtv support was recently added to the msp3400 distributed with the kernel, it may still have some bugs.
If you're using the one from the kernel, it would be extremely useful if you could replace it with the one from ivtv and test it again. If the problem disappears, it would indicate a need for further work on the ivtv support for the module in ther kernel.
Thanks.
Mike
