Hello All.
I picked up a PVR150 last weekend and I've spent the last three days trying to
make it work. I wish I would have just bought another 250 but...
Anyway, I'm not new to this and have a working myth system with a pvr250. I've
built several systems for friends, so I'm pretty familiar with the ivtv setup.
This one has me baffled.
My system is Fedora 2 with 2.6.10-1.9_FC2 kernel that has been recompiled
without REGPARM, preemption or 4kstacks. I'm using ivtv 0.3.2c compiled from
source.
I've been through the ivtv-devel list archives and the lists on shspvr looking
for clues. I understand there are two different versions of this card and I
believe I have a PVR-150, not a 150MCE. This one has only a TV tuner, s-video
and composite inputs and no radio.
I've compared the dmesg and lspci outputs that have been posted to the lists
and mine look the same up to a point, however, I'm getting this error after the
tuner, cx25840 and wm8775 modules load:
ivtv: Encoder mailbox not found
ivtv: Decoder mailbox not found
ivtv: Error locating firmware
ivtv: Error-12 on initialization
ivtv-iTVC15_15_mpg2_encoder_card: probe of 0000:00:09.0 failed with
error -12
It looks to me like it can't find the firmware files, but they are in
/lib/modules and I have extracted several different ones. The error never
changes. I've also tried loading the modules manually instead of letting ivtv
do it and the result is the same.
The firmware files I'm currently using were extracted from the CD that came
with the card. The file sizes match so I feel pretty sure they're correct.
I looked at the sourcecode to see if I could find a clue but did not.
I'm unsure of how to proceed as it looks like others with setups similar to
mine have the cards "sort-of working"
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
