Jim,

Being "stuck" with Fedora as well, I was wondering if you had some
instructions on how you did this exactly?

I tried Gentoo today but it choked on the GCC 3.4.3 build. Sigh.

Any happy Debian users out there?

I've been running debian unstable for over a year now. Like with any
installation that uses apt, it is easy to get setup.

I do build/install the ivtv drivers manually from source, but then if
you're looking at Gentoo that shouldn't be a problem ;)

One problem I have occasionally had is with all the updates that come
out for unstable. I've had to train myself to wait till mythtv updates
come out and then patch debian/myth at the same time. A couple of
times some upgrades to qt and other libraries seem to have
caused some pain. Other than that, things seem to be quite stable
now. I'm running a 350,250 with nvidia 5200 for tv out.
