do you have bttv in /etc/modules? If so replace it with ivtv.

If not who is loading bttv? Is that hotplug or something (dmesg won't
show, maybe syslog will)



i then go slightly mad rmmodding everything bttv related, suppose i
might need to rename bbtv.ko?? to stop it loading in the first place.



The question is why is this loaded?


answer should be a gotcha when trying devel stuff

initrd=/initrd-2.6.10.img in /boot/grub/menu.list

bad excuse No. 1
last module stuff i did was 5yrs back and i never had an initrd line

right now back to grind with make xconfig
