I think I solved the audio stuttering problem I was having with live tv in mythtv. I had earlier enabled the "realtime threads" feature in the mythtv playback settings, but I don't think it was taking effect. I changed my realtime lsm settings in /etc/default/realtime to allow "any" process to have realtime priority, and things are working well now. I was also able to remove the "extended audio buffer" attribute and it still works well.
