Just run 'make install' from the driver/ directory (from the ivtv source), which will copy the msp3400 module (and all other modules as well) back to its correct location. (You will need to run 'make' as well, if you've done a 'make clean') Don't forget to run depmod before you load the modules. I wouldn't stress too much about 'reinstalling ivtv', it's not too hard. IIRC newer versions will check for an existing msp3400 module from the kernel and alert you when running a 'make install' anyway. Post your log using the tac script for help with sound issue.
