Hoi Hans,
I have been running X.org 6.8.2 for a while now in pure 64 bits mode on the
AMD64. I did have quite some stability problems until the patches from "D.
Hugh Redelmeier" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> were committed. These were mainly fixes
for wrongly declared variables ('jiffies' and 'then' variables). Since then I
have actually not had stability problems anymore. This must have been since
version 0.3.2h or so.
The log you show here does not look familiar from when I did have stability
problems though.
I'm using the firmware as recommended by Chris, i.e. the one that does not
give a warning in dmesg. I too use XFree86-4.3-incr-DMA-08.tgz as the X
driver.
It might be there are some problems with the support for your motherboard.
Myself I'm using a Asus K8V SE Deluxe, that is based on a VIA K8T800 chipset
I think.
