This is what I just did:

copied ivtv-irq.c from 0.3.2z into 0.3.3n and commented out two instances of ivtv_dma_show_status: OK

copied ivtv-irq.c from 0.3.3 into 0.3.3n and commented out two instances of ivtv_dma_show_status: ENC IRQ OVERFLOW starts 3 sec after starting "watch tv" from mythtv

In the ivtv-0.3.2z_3.diff there seems to be a lot of changes to ivtv-irq.c

Regards

Sigurd

Does this fix if you grab the ivtv-irq.c from 3.3 too?, Trying to figure
out which version changed, can't be 3.2z, because that version would only
affect VBI DMA which you are not using, so has to be a newer version than those two between 3.2z and 3.3. It's odd because I don't know if others
are having the problem, (if so please speak up and help with which versions
broke), at least all my test systems are not having this problem. So
really need to figure out which version this broke at and so can narrow
down the search area, it has to be after 3.3 sometime.

Thanks,
Chris

That is why I had to comment it out â to get it to compile.
(The problem occurs from 0.3.2z to 0.3.3)

That is odd, because that function is totally removed from 3.3n now?

It's odd because the only thing changed between 3.2z and 3.3 are things
having to do with VBI, not anything else that I can see, is it happening right between those two versions or another between 3.2z and 3.3k?

The ENC IRQ OVERFLOW is still a problem with 0.3.3n

This is re-released with the vbi-insert fix, so should re-download it
if already grabbed it, seems to have been a bug which may have bitten people without a clue as to what was going on, but this explains some
things. Possibly certain systems having DMA buffer problems, with
the STEALING BUFFER messages, could have just been hit with this,
also would have driven CPU up a bit I believe in the past, but also
just ran VBI and embedded into the mpeg sometime by default.
