Johan,

Have a look at my sources or binary on http://tvsuite.verbraak.org/svn/TVSuite Currently I'm working on a vbi daemon which acts as a server so clients can request pages or other vbi information. Same setup as I currently use for the video.

Regards,

Michel.

for everyone who is interested, I'd like to share my subtitle-grabber.

It captures the mpeg-stream from /dev/video0 to /video/test.mpg and at the same time, grabs the subtitles (teletext page 888) from /dev/vbi0 to /video/test.srt.

There is still a lot hard-coded, and every now and then it refuses to start capturing (reading 0 bytes from /dev/video0; anyone who can solve this riddle for me will be greatly appreciated!)

a log-file will be written to /video/test_vbi.log

Mind you: PAL/teletext only, subtitle page=888.

the tool is called 'ttsubgrab' and a zipfile containing the sources (written in fpc (Free Pascal)) and a ready-compiled executable can be found here:

Reactions welcome!

Kind regards,
Johan Duinkerken.
