So I’m guessing a bit  here but assuming that you are trying to get X running then what is possibly happening is something like

You start by loading ivtv-fb

modprobe ivtv-fb

You now get a random picture on the tv. This is the uninitialised memory being displayed,

Now you try to start X but something is possibly wrong with the configuration so nothing changes.

Assuming this is the problem then mail the Xorg.conf and Xorg log file (/var/log/Xorg.0.log). If they are too big them mail me directly and include the jpeg image if you are mailing direct.

Your modprobe.conf can be very simple now so you shouldn’t need most of it but It may be an idea to post that as well.

If the problem turns out to be an ivtv module loading problem then it would be usefull to see your /var/log/messages but from what you have described that probably isn’t the case.

Subject: [ivtv-devel] PVR-350 TV out not working

This is my seventh attempt to post to this list.  They are all being held hostage because they exceed 20K (which, since I’ve joined this list, nearly 60% of the messages here *also* do).

TV out on my card produces weird looking video (if any).   There was a jpeg image showing it exactly.  I won’t attempt to explain in 1000 words.

Asus Pundit with PVR-350

Fedora Core 3, latest errata kernel

Followed Fedora Myth(TV)ology::HOWTO instructions, stuck at getting ivtv configured correctly.

Also tried instructions as posted on TikiWiki (Getting TV out working on PVR-350), which while it produces more errors (modprobe doesn’t like three lines in the example modprobe.conf file shown there), it doesn’t produce anything different than the instructions on the Myth(TV)ology page.

Help?
