I posted this also on the mythtvtalk.com forums. But I got to thinking it might be an issue with ivtv since its not switching/detecting the switch properly. I've been off this list for a while (mid may). My other email address was canceled and I didn't pay attention to the errors for ..about a month so I had to re-subscribe. Did I miss anything exciting :)
------------------------------------------------------------------------ - Recently my myth box started messing up. Whenever I am watching live tv and a scheduled recording comes up all i get is a black screen and the logs complain that the recording has been canceled. I choose "record and watch" usually. This has almost always worked (an occasional frontend crash during transition, but the recording has never been damaged. I am not entirely sure this happens all the time either, I am bad for leaving tv on for "background noise" and don't even pay attention to it unless it goes black for a few minutes. Sometimes i get maybe 3-5 seconds or so of recording but then it dies. The only logs out of the ordinary are in the backend log: Sat Jun 25 23:00:27 2005: wanted to record: Futurama 1043 Sat Jun 25 23:00:00 2005 But current state is: 1 2005-06-25 23:00:32.721 Canceled recording "Futurama" on channel: 1043 on cardid: 1, sourceid 1 all the other logs just mention the normal "leaving live tv mode" No other logs after that. If I try to restart live tv it works fine but the recording is gone. again this has just started happening. I tried a reboot. I will see what happens at 11:35 tonight ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---- well the time it took to resubscribe its almost 11:35 .. let's see what happens. ... Trying to record... it succeeded with a smooth transition. Ok assuming the reboot fixed my problem. Any ideas what caused it in the first place? It had been about 3-4 weeks since last reboot.
