This works a treat!  However I have to use an older driver (0.3.5),  0.3.6p
returns the following error message:

i2c client addr: 0x44 not found for command 2148033646! relating to register
0x44.

I am using the command:

echo PREF_MODE=1 | cx25840ctl -s
