After losing the wide-mode via a ff/rw *or* jumping out of a playback
and back in via the bookmark, I can still manually reinstate it using
your wss.c utility. I've slightly modded it to do "Widescreen Mode
16:9 Full Format" rather than "Widescreen Mode Box 16:9 Center" and
currently run it off of a remote keypress.

There is a setting exposed by mythtvsetup to enable "PAL teletext" (or
similar) but I don't believe it does anything for us.
