Well that mystery is solved. I had a bad composite cable. sigh.

I would still strongly recommend the dmesg output from the driver loading
include the /dev/video devices it grabs. Every other frame grabber seems to do
this:

bash-3.00$ dmesg | grep video[0-9]
bttv0: registered device video0
cx88[0]/0: registered device video1 [v4l2]

I'm still puzzled by this. All the docs seem to imply it'll be right there
built with the other kernel modules. But I can't find it anywhere. I must be
missing something obvious here but this is blocking me getting mythtv going
and I'm stumped.
