It's been mentioned on the list by several people before but I thought
I'd raise it again now as Hans seems to have all of the datasheets!
;-)

a) Would it be sensible/possible/easy to implement one-shot powerdown
on card components that individuals aren't using such as the builtin
tuner(s) on any of the PVR cards or the TVout on the 350?

The goal would be to save power consumption and ultimately heat
generation for those that don't need all of the features on their
card.

b) If (a) is possible, would it be desirable to implement dynamic
component powerup/down to go along with the dynamic buffer allocation?

I imagine that (b) would be very tricky and may not even make much
sense as peak heat generation would remain unchanged whereas with (a),
it could be permanently lowered for some people.

Thoughts anyone?

Cheers,
Wilf.
