I am experiencing a saturation problem that was described in a thread earlier this month.  I tried to fix it by running ivtvctl –g     reg=3D0x401,val=3D0xe0 but I got the following error.

ioctl IVTV_IOC_S_DECODER_REG failed: Invalid argument

This appears to be the problem described below.  I need to get  a working cx25840 module.  I'm not real strong with building and installing modules.  Where does the cx25840 module come from?  I don't see a cx25840.ko file to replace the one that comes from the kernel.

How do I get the cx58240 module from ivtv installed?

>Oh, there is one other possibility: are you using kernel 2.6.15 with the

>the cx24850 from ivtv. The kernel option to enable the register setting

>support never made it into 2.6.15 (it's in 2.6.16 though) so you cannot

>use the -g option with the kernel's cx25840.
