I guess it's a matter of broken Dell hardware.
Dell is well known to produce special broken hardware. I self have
a Dell Workstation here because it was a good price, but i'll NEVER
buy again any Dell stuff. The included soundcard (SB Live!) does not
work with the original SB Live! driver, i need a special version (emu10k1x).
Same goes for the onboard Sensors (there still not working, but i can
detect them) Also the ATI Radeon 9700 is a very broken Dell hardware crap.
I'm like 100% sure Dell saved some money in hardware for this card and
emulate/workaround this inside the driver.
greets,
Paul
