Hi,

I have a PVR 150 and a PVR 350. I don't see any difference between them in terms of quality. I would reccomend the 150/500 except you need the TV-OUT mpeg decoder on the 350.

Note that I have never testet the S-VIDEO in.

Hi,

I apologize for the long post, but I wanted to be thorough :)

I want to buy a new tuner card, and am having a hard time deciding
between Hauppauge 150/500 series or the 250/350 series. The only
direct quality comparison (using ivtv drivers) that I have seen thus
far is this one:

http://capnbry.net/~bmayland/fi/pvr150/

Unfortunately it isn't dated, but I think it is somewhat old based on
this message:
http://www.mythtv.org/pipermail/mythtv-users/2006-April/133786.html

I assume that the "URL" being referred to in the message, is the first
one, as it is the only URL with picture comparisons that I have been
able to find so far.

Have any new comparisons been done lately? and if so, could someone
please point me to where I could find it? If not, can someone who has
both cards provide some guidance as to which is better in terms of
quality?

I have been using ATI TV Wonder VE (bttv) for the past few years and
have had no issues. But I wish to add another one and Hauppauge seems
to be the way to go. Based on the reading I have been doing, most
posts suggested 250 because it had been around for a while, and that
150 was still pretty new and had some issues with ivtv. Those posts
too are somewhat outdated -- what is the current status on this?

Presently, most of the input to the new card is going to be via
composite lines (from my digital box), but eventually I plan to get
rid of the box and switch to analog/coax. So given this, are there any
suggestions/pointers?

Thanks,
Deepak
