Hello everyone. I am new here, but sadly I am already looking for some help.
This is the story:

I have a machine with AMD 3200+, a NForce motherboard and sata hard disk.
I was using ivtv 0.7 on Debian Unstable (kernel 2.6.17) with mythtv. Everything
worked perfectly!

I now switched to Fedora Core 5. I am using packages from atrpms for both ivtv
and mythtv. Kernel is 2.6.17 2174. But things do not work anymore. Basically my
problem is similar to the one that many people on the list had. The video and
audio become choppy and I get this kind of errors from mythtv:

ivtv0 warning: ENC: (0) DMA Error 0x0000000b

The card does not crash but picture and audio quality is gone completely.

Now, this must be a software problem, because everything worked (and still
works) when I booted into Debian. Now, can someone help me? Does my
configuration and distribution give you a hint on what could be causing the
problem? Should I recompile the kernel with the same configuration I had in
Debian?

I saw the following page and the proposed workaround:

http://ivtvdriver.org/trac/ticket/49

I will try it as soon as I come home from work, but I read that it's only
temporary. Since the problem described seems to be slightly different from mine
(my ivtv does not hang) do you think it willhelp me?

Please feel free to be technical, I like to learn! I am also no complete
newbie, so don't worry if your suggestion is something like recompiling the
kernel!

Thank you in advance for you help!

    Valerio
