Heh, we're in luck. Myth started recording two programs at once, and they both had no sound. Discovered this about 12 minutes into the recordings. I got the output from --log-status, stopped the recordings, then went back to livetv, and I get sound.

If you ever encounter this, then I'd love to see the output of
ivtvctl --log-status while that recording is in progress. The problem
is probably that you notice it only when the recording is finished,
during playback.
