I just tried that now, but it doesn't seem to work. The system locks up
again, about 1 second after executing cat /dev/video0 > test.mpg on a
cmdline.
I've consulted the manual of my motherboard, it says that only PCI slot
4 is free of any other IRQs. Can this be an issue? cat /proc/interrupts
says the following:
CPU0
0: 8676838 XT-PIC timer
2: 0 XT-PIC cascade
5: 421 XT-PIC libata, ehci_hcd:usb1
10: 42218 XT-PIC skge, libata, uhci_hcd:usb4,
uhci_hcd:usb5, ivtv0
11: 82 XT-PIC uhci_hcd:usb2, uhci_hcd:usb3, ivtv1
14: 48992 XT-PIC ide0
15: 1702 XT-PIC ide1
NMI: 0
ERR: 0
I don't know anything about IRQs and so on, but maybe ivtv conflicts
with the USB, ethernet or ATA driver?
