Thank you so much Stephen! VBI was set to "PAL Teletext" and after changing it to "None" both tuners works flawless!! So nice to finally have it working... :)

I've seen similar corruption issues when enabling NTSC closed captioning on my PVR-500 with myth v0.20 and kernel 2.8.16. According to Hans, this is a known problem. I upgraded from my gentoo box from 2.6.16, ivtv 0.6.1 (or something) and mythtv 0.19. This setup ran great!! I have a Athlon XP 2000+, 2 WD 80gig hard drives in a RAID 0 array using a Highpoint IDE raid controller, a 1 Hauppauge 250 and 1 Hauppauge 500. I upgraded because I was bored and I'm now using Mythtv 0.20, kernel 2.6.18 and Ivtv 0.8.0, which also runs great. I can record 3 tv shows at the same time, while watching live tv without hiccups. I'm not sure what exactly I've done to make this work. Also I have about 1 gig of memory the raid0 harddrives sure help out. Anyways, not sure if this information help or not. INIT IVTV ==================== I initially had trouble getting ivtv 0.8 working with the new kernel, but after some work I got it working. I can post my .config for the kernel if needed, but that just takes up more room. Anyways, not sure what is wrong, but hopefully some clue from my stuff will help. I noticed you are using a SMP kernel. Try recompiling with that out since you don't have two or more CPUs and see if that helps. As far as I know you don't need XV stuff unless you are using a High def tv, but I could be wrong. Anyways, good luck! After verifying that the system was running correctly (I tested live tv for 30 minutes, and tested mythtv in general), I replaced the PVR250 with a PVR500. After setting up Mythtv to use the second tuner, I started up Mythtv and got a jumping and lacking picture with lots of noise all over the screen. I recorded a short movie sequence with my camera to illustrate the problem: > > > > http://www2.er.dtu.dk/homepages/kll/MVI_0462.AVI > > > > Now I've tried doing a clean installation of the whole system, including ivtv drivers, ivtv firmwares, mythtv, 3 different versions of the Nvidia driver, tried using the integreted SIS graphics card, etc. Nothing helped. > > > > Doing a "cat /dev/video0 > test.mpg" also contains the same problem. On some channels it's really bad (impossible to get a clean picture, like in the above movie), on other it's quite good most of the time, but still with interruptions every few seconds. I wasn't able to detect any IRQ/IO/DMA conflicts, and raising the PCI latency didn't help either. > > > > While I'm having the problem watching live tv, I sometimes get the "NVP: prebuffering pause" in MythTV, but it's not that often - for example, when I was recording the movie above, I only got the error one or two times in several minutes, even though the picture was "flickering" with noise all the time. Anyway, the system should be fast enough to have no problems running these two tuners, when I used the PVR250 the CPU was at about 3% when recording, and about 20% when watching live TV. > > > > Also,
